On Saturday, December 30th, 2006, I flew my Cleanex for the fifth time, and the first time with everything in the green. It was a wonderful feeling, and I still remember looking at the gauges, seeing nothing amiss, and thinking "It can't get any better than this!" How wrong I was.
Dan had taken off before me, and after I caught up with him he formed up on me for fun flying. As we got over Reynolds Airpark airport, we heard this exclamation on 122.90- "My God, the sky is full of Cleanex's!!" Pat Lee, an RV7-A builder and pilot, based at Haller Airpark where Dan lives, came up with a passenger with a digital camera. As I flew straight and level (or at least tried), Dan formed up closer to me, and Pat and passenger took some wonderful photos. Dan is the shiny plane with the checkered tail.
It was exhilarating, and I can't wait to do it again. Dan and I have plans to do a lot of formation flights to area airports and fly-in's. We hope to see you at one of them!
